On Wednesday, February 20th, AT&T announced the launch of its AT&T Partner Exchange. This new reseller program is unique in two ways. First, this is the first time AT&T is opening up its APIs (focused on core services and their network) to solution providers or resellers. This reseller program is also unique in that it all came about and was developed in the Plano, TX AT&T Foundry and I believe they started this around November, so 3 or 4 months and out the door.

Earlier today, the latest in a never ending string of announcements in the connected vehicle/ M2M space hit the wires. Chrysler Group and Sprint announced their strategic wireless partnership just weeks after Verizon’s acquisition of Hughes Telematics, shocked the industry. What’s news here isn’t that Chrysler will have a connected Viper, or that light-duty truck owners also desire connectivity. The real news is who is powering it and how.
So software geeks, start thinking about the kind of apps and services you want in your car...

Customer Relationship Management software and applications today are evolving, and many of them incorporating a whole host of 3rd party applications to integrate new functionality and other tools, but social media is for the most part "left out." Yes, many of them link to a customers social account but that is the extent of it. Today, CRM systems are pretty static, meaning you can just enter in data and review it for a particular contact or account, but it is not interactive and especially not integrated into the entire social ecosystem. Well, Nimble is one such company that is changing the way we know and use CRM today.

Well CTIA was a blast last week, and the event was a little quiet for such a robust and exciting city. The event kicked off last Monday, but I did not get to the conference until Tuesday morning so I missed some of the opening events. This year CTIA seemed a little more reserved in terms of exciting or revolutionary announcements and vendor news. Many of the top vendors had booths at the event, but interestingly some of the largest booths were companies or vendors that I have never heard of including Plum, PCD, and Unnecto. The more familiar ones that had a large booth presence included Motorola Solutions, Ericsson, Qualcomm, HTC, LG, Kyocera, Huawei, and Nokia Siemens. Interestingly enough, some odd vendors that held booths included CNBC, Mastercard, and Visa. Apple and Google were both "no shows," which is ironic since they are knee-deep in the wireless world. I held a number of meetings with clients and potential clients and was also able to attend the Carrier Roundtable.
